Two very similar reddish-brown wood decors, both available as self-adhesive RENOLIT foil in 100, 180, 200, 500 and 1000 mm widths.
Mahogany
Reddish-brown wood decor with a finer grain and narrow light stripes.
Sapeli
Very similar mahogany tone, but with wider light stripes in the grain.
Both foils are often called “mahogany” and look very similar – you can recognise Sapeli by the wider light stripes in the decor. If you are unsure, order a sample of both for €0.99 each first and compare them directly on the window.

Mahogany window frames: why foil instead of paint?
Paint on uPVC needs sanding, primer, several coats and drying time – and a wood grain can hardly be imitated with a brush. Mahogany foil brings a finished factory surface with an even decor.
On older windows the mahogany tone may have darkened or faded. Compare the sample on a sheltered and on a weathered spot.
Whole frame or one section
If the colour differs, it is better to rewrap a whole profile side or the whole sash rather than a small spot – the result looks more uniform.
Touching up small chips
For small scratches and chips a touch-up pen in the matching shade is often enough.

Wrapping window frames in mahogany in 4 steps
Clean
Make the frame free of dust, grease and silicone, ideally with the RENOLIT window frame cleaner.
Cut
Cut the foil at least 2 cm larger per profile side, with the grain running along the profile.
Press on
Peel off the release paper gradually and press the foil on bubble-free with a felt squeegee.
Trim edges
Warm the edges slightly, fold them over and trim flush.

Mahogany or Sapeli – what is the difference?
Both are reddish-brown wood decors and are often sold as mahogany. Sapeli has wider light stripes in the grain, mahogany looks finer. If in doubt, order a sample of both and compare them on the frame.
Does the foil match my old mahogany windows?
That depends on the manufacturer and age of the windows – and on whether your windows are actually Sapeli. Compare samples of both decors on the frame first.
Can I wrap white windows in mahogany?
Yes. The foil is applied directly to the cleaned white frame; the window stays in place.
Wrap or paint – which is better?
For uPVC windows foil is usually the better choice: it gives an even wood texture, is finished the same day and needs no primer build-up.
