This is fundamentally possible if the existing film still adheres firmly, is smooth and has no loose areas. Loose, damaged or heavily weathered old film should be completely removed beforehand. Our 50 mm paint scraper with 2C soft grip is suitable for this purpose.

After removing the old film, the surface should be carefully prepared. Irregularities and adhesive residues can be smoothed step by step with sandpaper – for example with grit 120, then 220 and finally 400.

The substrate must then be clean, dry, dust-free and free of grease. Before bonding we recommend thorough cleaning with our RENOLIT window frame cleaner, so that the new self-adhesive window frame film can adhere optimally.
