What is the touch-up pen for window frames used for?
For small foil repairs on windows: mitre grooves, corners, edges and the weld seam residue known as “mouse teeth” on foil-laminated uPVC windows and doors. Also for scratches and minor damage to the decor foil. For larger areas of damage, a repair foil is the better choice – buy window frame foil in matching decors.
How do I know which shade I need?
The shade depends on the foil. For single-colour windows go by the RAL number, for woodgrain finishes by the name of the foil decor. For VEKA profiles, the fine-texture and SPECTRAL shades are listed separately. If you are unsure, you can order foil samples in advance and compare the shade directly on the frame.
Does the touch-up pen match my RENOLIT, Continental or VEKA foil?
Yes. The shades are matched to RENOLIT, Continental and VEKA foils. For many shades you will find the foil number right on the product, for example RENOLIT 701605 or Continental 436-5003.
Is there a touch-up pen in DB 703?
Yes, in two versions – and the choice depends not on the shade but on your foil. Alux DB 703 belongs to Continental foil 436-1014, DB 703 Mattex to Continental foil 470-1014. Both have the same shade but differ in surface texture and gloss level. Choose the pen that matches the texture of your foil – otherwise the colour will be right, but the spot will have a different sheen from the frame.
Does the paint hold up outdoors too?
Yes. The special paint is UV-resistant, weather-resistant and plasticiser-resistant, making it suitable for outdoor use.
Can I go over it a second time?
Yes. Let the first coat dry thoroughly and then go over it again – the paint can be painted over.
