✦ Required tools
- Carpet knife or cutter knife
- Hot air gun (30–40 °C)
- Film remover
- Felt squeegee
- Sandpaper (grit: 120 – 220 – 400)
- Antistatic PVC/film cleaner

✦ Processing temperature
- Optimum: +15 °C to +45 °C
- Note: Below 15 °C, increased use of the hot air gun is required
- Final adhesion: after approx. 24 hours
1️⃣ Colour matching & sample check
-
Compare the desired décor in advance with existing window film.
-
Is the colour shade unclear? Order a sample fan in the shop.
-
Tip: For slight deviations → cover a larger area for a more harmonious result.
2️⃣ Preparing the surface
-
Completely remove old, damaged film with a plastic scraper or sanding machine.
- If the old film is still intact, the film texture must still be removed to create a smooth, pore-free surface.
- Mask undamaged profile surfaces with a piece of repair film to protect them.
- Use the squeegee with felt edge in the window corners to avoid damaging them.
-
Smooth transitions to the profile with sandpaper.
- Sandpaper (grit 120->220->400)
-
For non-filmed elements, this step is omitted.
Important: Residues and unevenness cause blistering under the new film!
3️⃣ Cleaning
-
Surface must be free from dust, grease & silicone.
-
Recommended: Cleaning with anti-static PVC cleaner.
-
Warm with a hot air gun / allow to flash off.
4️⃣ Cutting the film to size
-
Small cut pieces = easier to handle
-
Our film is available on handy rolls
-
Cut the film to be at least 2 cm larger than the adhesive surface
-
Edges are precisely trimmed after lamination
5️⃣ Applying the film
-
Preheat the surface to approx. 30–40 °C
(Not every substrate is heat-resistant – check beforehand!) -
Peel off the masking tape step by step, starting from one corner
-
Press the film down bubble-free with the felt squeegee – from the inside outwards
-
In case of air pockets: carefully lift the film and reapply
-
Adhesive is repositionable, final adhesion after 24h
6️⃣ Edge finishing
-
Gently heat the edges
-
Fold the film over & then trim flush with a utility knife
-
A clean cutting edge prevents detachment in bad weather
7️⃣ Corner finishing
-
For rounded or shaped corners: heat the film, adjust, fold over
-
Neatly trim off any excess
-
If necessary, touch up with a touch-up pen
✦ Storage of the film
- Room temperature: 18–22 °C
- Humidity: 50–70 %
- Max. storage time: 12 months after delivery
