Continental (formerly Konrad Hornschuch) is, alongside RENOLIT, the second major manufacturer of window frame foils in Europe. If your window has a Hornschuch or skai decor, you will find the identical Hornschuch film here as self-adhesive window frame foil for repairs – with pure acrylic adhesive and release liner, and no special machinery needed to apply it.

Where self-adhesive Continental film makes particular sense

Continental Exterior films are designed for long-term outdoor use on window profiles. As self-adhesive repair film, they renew windows, doors and gates directly on the component – without replacement and without major building work.

Continental film for repairs

Repair scratches, discolouration or damaged film patches on Hornschuch and skai-foiled windows with the identical decor – on the finished window the repair is barely visible.

Restyle front doors and gates

With the 1000 mm wide roll you can wrap front doors, sectional doors and garage doors in woodec woodgrain or mattex anthracite – to match the windows.

Façades and conservatories

Façade panels, parapet flashings and aluminium conservatory profiles hold the film long-term; thanks to Cool Colours technology, even dark decors heat up less.

Are these original Continental films?

Makopan uses only original Continental skai Exterior films and equips them with a high-performance acrylic adhesive tape. This allows them to be applied directly to the window frame, door or façade profile as a repair film.

Is Continental film the same as Hornschuch or skai film?

Yes. Konrad Hornschuch has been part of Continental since 2017; the window frame foils still carry the skai brand name. Decors such as woodec, mattex, Metbrush and Alux are Continental Exterior films.

Can I repair a Hornschuch window with Continental film?

Yes. The self-adhesive repair film is the same film that was laminated onto the profile at the factory – with identical colour, grain and gloss. What matters is the correct decor number (F4xx).

How do I find the right Continental decor?

Via the decor number in the window order or your window manufacturer's documents, by searching for colour or decor name – or with a €0.99 sample held directly against the window.

What is the difference between woodec and the classic woodgrain decors?

woodec has a texture embossed in register with the grain, so it feels like wood and looks matt. Classic woodgrain decors such as Golden Oak have a uniform grain and a slight sheen.

Is mattex suitable for south-facing sides?

Yes. All Continental decors feature skai Cool Colours technology: the infrared reflection ensures that even dark colours such as anthracite heat up considerably less in the sun.
